Lamar County Sheriff’s Department performs political favors
#

It has been known for sometime by citizens of Lamar County their several bad cops in the Sheriff Department. These cops have been involved in use of excessive force against citizens for reasons other than those concerning the law of the land. To these individuals, the law is as they see it, and no one else. Which makes them judge, jury, prosecution, and law enforcement all wrapped in one very corrupt bundle. We have experienced more than our fair share of these bad cops who have gone out of control. From the raiding of our home by seven deputies to the most recent illegal incarceration, we have seen how senior officers who have gone corrupt have acted as antagonist ensuring lesser experienced cops performed their bidding by using excessive force. To say the least, this is unacceptable by anyone’s standards. Bad cops ruin it for everyone, especially the good cops trying to make a difference.

But what makes the situation of having a law enforcement force saturated with senior bad apples even worse, is that they are targeting citizens out of political favors. This is the absolute worst form corruption there is, because it not only destroys any objective claim of equal treatment of the law, but it also destroys the integrity of the law enforcement community.

A noticeable pattern
#

Thugs don’t get their hands dirty if they can help it, they get someone else to do it.

A pattern has been noticed in all of our experiences with bad cops. They always send a patsy to do their dirty work. In terms of the sheriff department, they use a deputy on rotation or one that is going through a trial period. This means they are patsy is burnable, and if they get caught doing something illegal, all the bad consequences will fall on the patsy and not the senior team member. Which treats junior team members as expendable assets, and not as human beings trying to make a difference. This alone is morally reprehensible leadership, and should be squashed by upper management.
