We are not alone in our protest against Georgia’s solar short mindedness #
It is not the situation that georgia has the perfect environment for Solar Energy, we don’t. The geography of our state is filled with rolling hills, mountains and a vivacious history of fast growing pine trees. The last parts of the appalachan mountains and the smoky mountains stretch through the majority of the state and come to rest around columbus in pine mountain, Georgia. The remaining parts of our state is the remenants of prehistoric sand dunes that shores of the ancient ocean that use to occupy the majority of the land this states rests upon. When compared to the flatness and exposed valleys of the western united states, the only benefits our state provides to the solar industry is the ease of persuading politicians. All throughout the state, residents are rising up and protesting these ungodly installations claiming many of the same valid concerns of our group. Is this just a coincidence, we don’t think so.
Local Counties #
Dougherty County #
In Dougherty county which is the county where Albany, Georgia is located. Residents are fighting to save the value of their property and investments from a solar farm that is planned to be well over one thousand acres. Only approved a few weeks after the one in Lamar county, it stands to remain one of the largest power production facilities within residential property in that state. Many of the concerns brought to the board of commissioners in that county are exactly the same as the ones brought to the attention of the Lamar Board of Commissioners. Local residents of Dougherty County will be seeking legal action and filing suit, just like those in Lamar.
Oconee County #
In the midst of Georgia’s solar gluttony, one county has already processed the new wave of solar short mindedness and have ruled against endangering the lives of it’s residents and choose to support the investments residents have made in their personal property by denying a solar pirate exception to place a destructive facility by residential property. Oconee County, we salute you.
Tift County #
In Tift County local residents are facing the same situation of government backed enforcement of solar acceptance. Concerned residents fighting to protect their property are being forced to accept the desires of a single individual attempting to profit off of their misfortune. Solar Pirates hoping to make a fast buck while devaluing the community investment and placing the health of residents needlessly at risk.
Twiggs County #
By far the worst travesty of justice is occurring in Twiggs county where Solar pirates are rejoicing of the corruption of the local government and the approval of the largest solar power facility in the southeastern united states, which will also make it one of the most polluting power production facilities in the southeastern united states. No one knows that long lasting effects this facility will have on the land and people of that county.
Marion County #
Yep there too.
Placing Power Production facilities in Residential areas must be stopped #
Regardless of the ludacris claims by solar proponents, either way you dare to look at the situation, placing power production facilities in people’s backyards and forcing them to accept it is morally wrong. Forcing innocent residents to accept the stupidity of a few single minded individuals, and allowing those individuals to impose their personal profit on the lives of others is perhaps the greatest abuse of power this state has ever dared to exercise. Proving none other than the corruption of politics in this state is rampant, and instead of defending the rights of the people, politicians are instead protecting the lining of their own wallets. Either the educational system of this state ceased to function more than a century ago, or the idiocracy of small mindedness has become contagious. Regardless, the only benefit the residents of the state have to look forward to is the increased expansion of the candle making industry, whose products will be thoroughly used during one of the many brown outs Georgia Residents have to look forward to.
